Many would consider Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer to be the best NFL coach fired in 2022, having won two NFC North division titles in the past few years. Then there's Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy who, despite his winning record, never found himself outside of controversy. Other NFL coaches fired in 2022 include Brian Flores who helmed the Miami Dolphins to a seven game win streak to secure a winning record for the Fins this past season.

    Nathaniel Hackett (born December 19, 1979) is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers from 2019 to 2021, the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2016 to 2018, the Buffalo Bills from 2013 to 2014, and the Syracuse Orange in college football.

    Frank Michael Reich Jr. (born December 4, 1961) is a former American football coach and former quarterback who was most recently the head coach for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played in the NFL for 14 seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills, who selected him in the third round of the 1985 NFL Draft. Reich spent most of his career backing up Jim Kelly, although he achieved recognition when he led the Bills to the NFL's largest comeback during the 1992–93 NFL playoffs. After retiring as a player, Reich began an NFL coaching career. Holding assistant positions from 2008 to 2017, he was the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles when they won their first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LII. He was named the Colts' head coach the following season and guided the team to two playoff appearances. He was fired midway through the 2022 season after poor offensive performances and a 3-5-1 start.

    Matthew Nagy ( NEH-ghee or NAG-ee); born April 24, 1978) is an American football coach and former arena football quarterback. He formerly served as the head coach for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). As a quarterback, he played college football for the University of Delaware from 1997 to 2000, where he set various school passing records. After failing to receive an NFL contract, he joined the Arena Football League (AFL), where he spent six seasons playing for the New York Dragons, Carolina Cobras, Georgia Force, and Columbus Destroyers.
