Otherwise, like last year which saw eight NFL coaches fired, many teams will have NFL coaches on the hot seat. So, who is the best NFL coach right now? Which NFL coach will win the Coach of the Year Award in 2022?
Active coaches Mike Vrabel, John Harbaugh, and Kevin Stefanski are among the most recent winners who showed the coaching landscape is loaded with talented young coaches. There are also a few older coaches who can add to their legendary legacies, such as Bill Belichick, Mike Tomlin, and Andy Reid, all of whom would like to win the 2022 NFL Coach of the Year award before they eventually retire.

How He Can Win: Another Super Bowl season. Andy Reid doesn't get much respect as one of the elite coaches in the game, so for him to win at this point in the game - as a 2x champion - he'd probably have to get his Chiefs back to the #1 slot in the AFC by a considerable margin (2-3 games). It helps KC are now without electrifying playmaker Tyreek Hill. That can only work in Reid's favor as far as Coach of the Year odds go.
How He Can Win: Unleash the cheetah. McDaniel steps into a unique situation in his first year as a head coach, where he suddenly has the best and faster wide receiver in the NFL on his roster. Miami had their moments last year, including a seven game win streak at one point. If McDaniel can cultivate the magic Tyreek Hill had with Patrick Mahomes between Hill and Tua, then the Fins will win a whole bunch more games.
How He Can Win: The Lions were the worst team in the NFL last year. They were 0-10-1 at the end of November. So, Campbell's got to turn things around. First he should figure out how to make Jared Goff a legit QB1 and then develop a strong run game. Those two things will go a long way towards not playing months of winless football.

How He Can Win: The only place to go is up in Jacksonville. After the disaster that was the Urban Meyer experiment last year, the Jags brought in Pederson to right the ship. Trevor Lawrence is an ore mine waiting to be drilled into, and the former Super Bowl winning coach has experience getting the most out of young talent.
How He Can Win: Make the leap. Justin Herbert's been one of the most hyped QBs over the past year, but he's still yet to fully prove he can win big games. The Chargers have all the talent in the world, but they need to start racking up wins if the NFL is to take Herbert and Staley seriously.
How He Can Win: In his first head coaching gig, O'Connell joins Kirk Cousins, who he coached as a QB coach for Washington back in the day. The Vikings have loads of talent, but lost the ability to pick up wins with Mike Zimmer. After an 8-9 finish last season, O'Connell must improve on that number and then some, but it looks more than possible given his chemistry and relationship with QB1.
