Although I still enjoy the original Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation did have a lot more depth and was on the air for such a long time that their library is much more enjoyable. I know technically it's not a spin-off but since it was also produced by Gene Roddenberry and in the very first episode they had an appearance by Dr. McCoy AKA DeForest Kelly it should qualify as a continuation of the story.

Although taking into consideration that nobody wanted the original Star Trek on the air and their budget was close to zero, I think they did a pretty good job!!! I do agree with you Star Trek: The Next Generation was better on a couple levels!!

The Good Fight

The Good Fight over The Good Wife. The original is good, but the spin-off is triumphant and it’s not really close.
